Pastoralists in Ethiopia like in the other African countries have continuously suffered from a long history of political, economical, and socio-cultural mariginalization. The pastoralists problems have been exacerbated by the recurrent and complex natural calamities such as drought, flood, disease etc. Due to both artificial and natural calamities, the pastoralists have emerged as the poorest of the poor. Today, the Federal Government of Ethiopia gives considerable attention reducing pastoral problems.
