report constitutes three sections. The first section
is implementation of programming activities that deals
with key program performances as regard to advocacy
and lobby, networking and coordination, promotion of
good governance, partnership and coalition building,
and capacity building activities. The second section
highlights governance and administration matters, which
include institutional and human resources developments.
The final section describes the financial performance
of the organization in the reporting period, year 2007.

This narrative report highlights
the efforts and steps moved by Pastoralist Forum Ethiopia
(PFE) from January through December 2005. The report
briefly cover institutional development matters, performance
made in strategic program areas that include pastoral
policy advocacy and lobby, networking and coordination,
partnership and coalition, and capacity building. The
newly initiated projects and challenges encountered

Annual Activity and Finance
Report (March 2004 to April 2005) |
|
The present report
highlights the efforts and steps moved by Pastoralist
Forum Ethiopia (PFE) between March 2004 and April 2005.
The report mainly concentrates on accentuating PFE's
institutional development, activities performed in protecting
the rights of the pastoralists, and raising pastoral
profile at various levels. The later include implementation
and achievement of a wide range of clustered activities
of the Forum such as pastoral policy advocacy and lobby,
networking and coordination, partnership and coalition,
and capacity building. Since PFE is an umbrella organization,
we acknowledge all contributions made from member NGOs
and a multitude of partners facilitating the accomplishments.
Despite it is a nascent organization, the Forum has
played great roles to limelight pastoral issues and
protecting pastoralists' rights both nationally and
internationally. We can imagine that this small report
may not give you the entire picture of what PFE has
done in the year. Thus, we kindly advice the users of
this report to contact the Secretariat of PFE in case

Pastoralist Forum Ethiopia
(PFE) is a membership local umbrella organization representing
collective independent voices of pastoral Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs), advocating on behalf of the Ethiopian
pastoralists to be better heard by the decision-makers
and the public so that concerns of the pastoralists
to be addressed in policy processing environment, and
culminate pastoral marginalization. Download

Impact Assessment of the Ethiopian
Pastoralist Day (EPD) Commemorations (1999-2004) |
|
Pastoralist Forum Ethiopia's
(PFE) mission is to promote pastoral rights through
policy advocacy, networking, research and capacity building
with partners and stakeholders at the local, national,
and regional/international levels. PFE in collaboration
with partner institutions organizes the Ethiopian Pastoralist
Day and the National Conference on Pastoral Development
annually to raise the profile of the pastoralists. Using
these two important advocacy instruments PFE has contributed
to the rights of the pastoralists and their recognition
at decision-making and public level. Download

Rally of the Borana, Guji,
Gebra, Arsi and Marian Pastoral Clans of Oromiya |
|
Four clans of Oromo ethnic
group comprised of pastoral elders and Aba Gadas of
Borana, Guji, Gebra, Arsi and Marian of Liben, Dirre
and Moyale Woredas conducted a joint rally at Yabello
(SORDU compound) from June 8-15, 2004. The pastoralists
initiated the rally with the objectives to discuss and
to frame pastoral problems each ethnic group might have
and to consolidate and present these problems in the
form of resolutions, which would be submitted to relevant
officials or for research purposes for evaluation and
for arriving at their eventual solutions. Download
